When we speak of environmental orientation, it is much more than just our products that we are referring to. In our plants, too, we seize even the smallest chance to reduce emissions during development, manufacturing, and distribution – even when disposing of waste. For this environmental management system, the ebm-papst company is certified to the DIN EN ISO 14001 standard.

As part of the pilot project "Energieeffizienz-Initiative Region Hohenlohe", an initiative on energy efficiency in Germany's Hohenlohe region, we extensively modernised our headquarters in Mulfingen, reducing CO2 emissions by almost 2,000 tons a year. Just having a modern groundwater well-cooling system installed now helps us to enjoy energy savings of about 500,000 kWh a year. At our newest facility in Hollenbach, an innovative energy concept and efficient heating and air-conditioning technology provide an energy demand that is 91% lower.

In 2008, ebm-papst has been honoured by the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg with the Environmental Prize. ebm-papst was recognised for performance in the "Industry" category with our exemplary and comprehensive implementation of environmental protection in all areas of the company. Of course, the monetary prize of 10,000 EUR will be invested in additional energy efficiency projects.
